Kisumu County Gender Sector Working Group Meeting.

We attended the Kisumu County Gender Sector Working Group Meeting, where experts  drawn from KELIN, TINADA, KMET, STATE DEPARTMENT OF GENDER, STATE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICE, NATIONAL GENDER EQUALITY COMMISSION(NGEC), and diffrent stakeholders working in the field of Gender and development like G.E.I Organisation, came together to brainstorm and discuss issues of great importance in relation to Gender and Development issues.

 

The speaker Stephanie [ in pink top] from the N.G.E.C facilitated the meeting, where we examined the prevalence and effects of gender-based violence.

With a focus on socio-economic inclusion, our discussions covered mitigation strategies and probable solutions to help women and children who are affected by this terrible problem using evidence based processes based on sound research and science.
